Jericho Reeves is, for all intents and purposes, a normal guy. Well, except for the part about him turning into a mindless biting wolf-shaped thing once a month, and his ability to turn into a sort of mindful wolf-shaped thing the rest of the month at will. It's a whole running an occult-paranormal-supernatural-tourist trap bookshop by day, werewolf by night sort of thing.
He was bitten as a teen: stupid and drunk and out at a bonfire party somewhere in the middle of the woods. Last thing he remembers of that night is howling and pain and glowing amber eyes--and waking up naked, covered in blood, with things he doesn't want to think about in his mouth.
(You know, they still haven't solved those girl's murders; chalked them up to a bear attack or maybe a mountain lion--)
These days he mostly has a handle on it - the wolf part that is. It gets away from him, sometimes, when his emotions get too high, if he gets too angry, to hungry, too--desperate. But the full moon is the only time he has to find a way to chain himself down, lock himself somewhere where he won't hurt someone else. After all, if someone has to fulfill the whole werewolf trope thing, it might as well be him.
